RTG Introduce a quick Release Rigger Boot
For many years the question "Are Rigger Boots safe on the worksite?" has been asked. And although it is commonly agreed that the stability and structure of the Rigger is as competent and reliable as any other safety boot, there seems to be wide spread concern that the ability to remove the boot after an accident can cause great discomfort and even on some cases greater damage.
It is this concern that has prompted many Site Formen to conduct risks assessments and on some occasions ban Rigger boots entirely from the Site.
This action has proved unpopular with workman who prefer the extra grip that a Rigger boot can provide.
RTG have teamed up with Durakit to tackle this problem and we believe we have come up with a solution that will allow workman to continue to wear Riggers and keep the health and safety officer happy we call it "The Quick Release Rigger".
We have installed a waterproof zip that runs down the back of the boot which provides a simple and comfortable way for first aiders to access and treat an injured foot whilst at the same time not compromising all the requirements of a safety boot.
