EgyptAir, one of the pioneer airlines in the world, utilises innovative and cost efficient in-flight solutions designed and manufactured by RTG.
Demonstrating its impressive research and sourcing capabilities, RTG successfully designed a cutting edge amenity kit for EgyptAir, creating the first roll bag to take flight, packed full to the brim with luxurious brands. Featuring Clarins cosmetics and a Colgate dental set, the kits were secured on price as well as innovative design - testament to RTG's experience and negotiating skills in regards to premium brands.
The EgyptAir amenity kit is designed and manufactured in-house by RTG right down to the textiles used to create the roll bag and its impressive contents which include a sleepsuit, socks and eyemask. With the ability to reduce costs whilst increasing customer and passenger satisfaction, the kit demonstrates RTG's exceptional attention to the comfort of travellers as well as the needs of an airline.
In the ultra competitive skies it also represents a high-end premium product which expresses the high quality value of the EgyptAir brand, stretches value for money and optimises passenger spend.
"RTG has a distinct flair for creative thinking and successfully shows that good design is integral to keeping a brand alive for passengers and essential to successful differentiation. The new shape of the bag keeps the cabin experience fresh, and our passengers feel valued and pampered with the Clarins and Colgate brands they later discover inside. ”

New Antibacterial Skyns technology hits the beat

South West based RTG, a world-wide specialist in textile and contract manufacturing, is having its latest innovative
Skyns fabric technology tested in the field, with favourable results that won’t cause a stink. Police forces across the UK have been cladding their Bobbies on the beat with RTG’s new, high performance, antibacterial, Coolskyn Plus clothing in a bid to eliminate sweaty pongs and nasty whiffs from the frontline.
Earlier this year, over 3,000 officers from the Wiltshire and South Yorkshire police force dumped their traditional white polycotton shirts and ties for RTG’s more practical, breathable and lightweight Coolskyn working wardrobe. RTG has now knitted a silver based, natural solution into its Coolskyn yarn which prevents micro-organisms multiplying on the textile surface. The result, Coolskyn Plus, retains the stay dry technology of Coolskyn but also tackles bacterial growth at source to prevent uniforms from spreading infections, cross-contaminating and ageing prematurely. The silver ions also protect garments against ugly stains and unpleasant smells to ensure long lasting durability and freshness.
"Workers with demanding and physical roles need clothes that regulate body climate and break boundaries when the heat is on without attacking the PH balance of the skin," says Marcus Aldred, Production & Development Director, RTG. "Coolskyn Plus can’t stop the sweat but it prevents garments reeking because of it," he adds.
"Comfortable to wear and surpassing the demands of modern policing, the stats. of Coolskyn Plus are very impressive," says Marcus. "The ultimate workhorse, it ensures uniforms always communicate a crisp, professional image and remain hygienically clean. This in itself has major repercussions for the health and catering industry too," adds Marcus.
Demonstrating ultra rapid moisture transfer, pill resistance and dimensional stability, Coolskyn Plus is an antimicrobial 100% wicking fabric which wicks sweat away from the skin to the fabric surface where it can evaporate, eliminating coldness and ‘skin cling’. On contact with perspiration, the embedded silver ions with their anti bacterial properties get to work. They’re released from within the Coolskyn Plus fabric, suppress the bacterial growth responsible for bad smells (Staphylococcus Aureus) and provide 99.9% protection against major health hazardous micro-organisms. These include MRSA, E-Coli, Salmonella, Listeria, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Legionelle pneumoniae and Corynebacterium spp.
Plymouth based RTG, which is jointly owned by new product development director Marcus Aldred and commercial director Andy Drake is a dynamic and entrepreneurial business, with innovation at its helm. Its Skyns performance clothing range is built on a revolutionary material, manufactured right down to the weave in RTG’s own factory and knitting facility, enabling low costs and high quality.
Over the last 18 years, RTG has designed, supplied and manufactured branded clothing and merchandise for some of the biggest brands in the world. During that time it has developed an impressive portfolio which is currently serviced by over 500 employees, and is a preferred partner to the likes of Emirates, Mark Warner, ScrewFix, Virgin and Barbour.
RTG's Skyns Clothing range includes Coolskyn Plus, Coolskyn, BrightSkyn, and Thermoskyn. Coolskyn is a high performance 100% polyester fabric that maintains body climate to keep the wearer dry, cool and comfortable. Brightskyn provides a high visibility option in 3 different fabric weights and Thermoskyn harnesses the power of nanotechnology, controlling body climate and boasting superior stain, water and oil resistant properties.
Women are tickled Pink as Safety clothing shapes a tighter, brighter and mightier future

RTG, a world-wide specialist in textile and contract manufacturing, has brought the first pink high vis clothing range to the high street. The design-led move successfully blurs the line between safety and fashion to shape a tighter, brighter and mightier future for high vis clothing within the leisure and sportswear market.
"We’re redefining safety clothing and it’s going to be massive," says Andy Drake, Director RTG. He says that as well as injecting pink into its high vis range, RTG has also added a milk chocolate twist into the mix, combining it with traditional Saturn yellow for a softer, tastier solution. "Safety clothing definitely saves lives but it doesn’t have to be ugly and people don’t have to feel ridiculous wearing it. Our new fitted designs are flattering to the face and figure, compliment a woman’s existing wardrobe and kids don't have to be cajoled into wearing them," he adds.
The first company to benefit from RTG’s R&D breakthrough is the 'all girl' equestrian performance clothing brand Rockfish Riders. Its ‘hot to trot’, Rflex 360 collection is taking stables across the country by storm, and with RTG’s technology at its core, is filling a gap for garments that harness ‘want to wear’ appeal for the ‘need to wear’ market. "RTG’s pink high viz solution is a massive leap away from its bulkier, bright yellow, work wear cousin," says x.
"It's the hottest hi viz range we’ve ever seen," says director Jules Aldred, Rockfish Riders whose 2009 collection also incorporates the first fully compliant high viz western style jean jacket for equestrian clothing. "RTG has been instrumental in the success of our new collection, providing fresh, clever and creative designs in imaginative colours that customers have been asking for, for years," she adds.
RTG's high viz range for Rockfish Riders is compliant to EN1150:1999 and available in pink, graphite, or a saturn yellow and milk chocolate mix. It incorporates fleeces, all weather jackets and trousers, t-shirts, polo shirts, tabards and body warmers that are waterproof, breathable and windproof. Catering for girls aged 6 – 13 and available in sizes 10 – 18, it also incorporates the innovative performance properties of RTG's revolutionary Brightskyn, Coolskyn and Thermoskyn technology in one.
"Our Skyn’s performance clothing range is manufactured right down to the weave in our own factory and knitting facility, enabling us to keep costs low and quality high. Our experienced team of in house designers has created the ultimate sports fabric in a high viz range for those people who have dress sense as well as road sense," says Andy
Rockfish Riders' new Rflex 360 collection is available across the UK in Equestrian Outlets, Derby House, Robinsons, Large Country Stores, Mole Valley Farmers and can be viewed online at www.rockfishriders.com.
